Pepper Basham has long been a favorite author of mine. Her wit in her sweet contemporary romances and her more serious historical (inspired from true family history) are equally inspiring reads. This most recent book of hers that comes out in May 2026, is so beautiful, funny and so full of heart.
This sweet romance suddenly took on a more serious turn toward the last few chapters, taking me by surprise. But knowing what Pepper and her family endured almost a year ago, she had a bird’s eye view of those hard circumstances. She and her family came through a lot with smiles still on their faces because God brought them through it all.
