We are not saved by our works. That’s a good thing. Our works, no matter how honorable, can’t get us into Heaven. But praise Jesus for the Grace He bestowed on us. Only He can save us and make a way for us to live forever with Him in Heaven!!

Amen! We must always keep our eyes on the Cross and what Jesus did for us there. It can be easy to begin thinking our works warrant us something. We might not even consciously realize we’re doing it. It’s good for us to do good works, yes, but we must always remember that all our works are as filthy rags before the Father. Our best could never be enough to save us from the sin we were born into. Only Jesus can atone for our sins.
“[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV
